After setting up Windows Authentication in Vault Server for Vault Collaboration or Manufacturing 2010, Users are unable to log in to the Vault and see this message.
"Windows Authentication failed with the data management server. Please make sure you are in the same domain as the data managment server."
Apart from the obvious solution of making sure that you are in the same domain as the Vault Server, as per the "Readme_Manufacturing.html" document...
"If you are planning on using windows authentication within Vault Manufacturing when using Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, the "Windows Authentication" service for IIS will need to be installed."
You will need to configure Windows Authentication before Vault Server is installed. If Vault Server is installed yuo will need to uninstall it, enable Windows Authentication in IIS and then reinstall Vault Server. (See Here for instructions.)
Windows Authentication\Active Directory Integration will not work for plain Vault or Vault Workgroup. You must upgrade to Vault Collaboration or Vault Manufacturing to have this feature.

I hate these Grey screens. One thing Microsoft should have learned is how to make the database error massages more sexy and more appealing.
