It is not possible to do this with Item Revision through the User Interface, Although it is possible to Import Item information from CSV\text\DWF\XML files and then Assign Iten to a file making sure to click the "Auto-select first duplicate" option. Another method might be to approach Autodesk Consulting who have a tool that can do this in VM2010 and earlier. To obtain this tool you need to contact your reseller. The only way that I can see to do this is by using the Vault API. or by customising in ohter words
