Migration Error to Vault 2011

There are a few reports of an error occurring whilst migrating a database to Vault 2011.

The error appears as follows

The ALTER TABLE statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK_BigProperty_PropertyDef1". The conflict occured in database "Vault", table "dbo.PropertyDef", column "PropertyDefID". Would you like to migrate remaining databases?

At this time we don't really understand the impact that this isolated issue is having on our user base. We do have a solution that can remedy the situation, but it requires direct manipluation of the database by a certified expert. We are evaluating to see if this issue needs a hotfix or not. For this reason we would ask that if you experience this error message when migrating to Vault 2011, rollback to the version of Vault you came from and log a support case with Autodesk Support to help us evaluate the impact.

 

UPDATE 29-10-2010

This issue is resolved in Vault 2011 Update 2.

1. When prompted, decline the option to migrate.
2. Apply Vault 2011 Update 1, again decline the option to migrate.
3. Apply Vault 2011 Update 2, then migrate.
