Troubleshooting Vault Professional for SAP Integration issues

If you encounter an issue with the SAP Integration for Vault Professional the first thing to do is to enable debugging in the "vault_sap_interface.xml" file.

This is located in this folder

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Vault Professional 201x\Explorer\Extensions\Integration for SAP.

Edit this file with Notepad and change DEBUG="0" to DEBUG="1"

Then restart the Vault Client and reproduce the error.

Then in the SAP Integration click SAP>About

Click Export to XML

Name the log file as Debug (for example).

Error messages will appear in this debug file.

If you cannot find the solution to the error yourself, you will need to supply both the "vault_sap_interface.xml" and the debug file to Autodesk support for further investigation.

IMPORTANT NOTE - If you leave debugging turned on, the debug file will grow significantly over time. So once you captured the error, remember to set it back to DEBUG="0"

GetItemProperties() There is an error in the XML document.

When trying to Export Items over to SAP using the Autodesk Vault Professional 201x Integration for SAP, (RMB on the Item>SAP>Create SAP Material), you see this message.

GetItemProperties() There is an error in the XML document.

In the Vault-SAP Interface Log is the following error.

Error on checkOutDocument() 1003

and

Field 'Title (Item,CO)' not found!

This is caused because of a mismatch between the servers Web.config setting and the clients config setting. To mirror the setting in the server config file, this can be addressed by adding the following line in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\Vault Professional 2011\Explorer\Connectivity.VaultPro.exe.config". maxMimeParts="1024" serverMode="optional" />

Here is an example.

Vault Professional 2012 Integration for SAP, German Menus

After installing version 5.01 of the "Vault Professional 2012 Integration for SAP" and selecting the English US version during the installation, you notice that all the menus are in German.

 
 

This can be addressed by flipping a switch in the "Main.config" file. (C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Vault 2012\Extensions\VaultSapInterface\configuration).

 

Edit the Main.Config file in Notepad and locate the following text

Change the highlighted text to read ""en-US", then restart the client.
